The Ten Commandments for Feelings
- You are not your feelings.
- Feelings are neither right nor wrong.
- Feelings are like weather in the mountains- wait ten minutes and they will surely change.
- Our brain reprocesses our feelings through movement, so “move a muscle, change a thought.”
- Never let feelings offend you.
- Feelings hardly ever tell the truth.
- Thank your feelings for sharing but then move on to engage your thinking brain.
- Never build a tent over your feelings in order to camp out with them.
- Never converse with your feelings or else they will pull you down the rabbit hole.
- LOVE IS A DECISION NOT A FEELING!
You don’t have to give up your misery to be happy. You can be intermittently happy while still enjoying your misery!
